The lady behind the lens

Hi, I’m Mariah.

Photography has been a part of my life since I was a kid. For the past seven years, I’ve had the honor of capturing portraits, weddings, and real estate—focusing on real, meaningful moments.

In 2019, I survived a life-changing accident when I was crushed by a falling tree. After a long recovery and learning to walk again, I returned to photography with a renewed purpose. Life is unpredictable, but photos help us hold onto the moments that matter most.

I’m also a volunteer firefighter and a Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist. Through my business, Phoenix Holistic in Morrisville, VT, I offer gentle, hands-on therapy that supports healing and balance. While craniosacral therapy is my main focus, I’m excited to continue expanding Phoenix Holistic to include other alternative healing practices.

When I’m not working, I’m usually exploring new places, diving into alternative medicine studies, moving my body, trying new recipes, or relaxing with my animals and nature.

I can’t wait to connect and help you tell your story through photos.

My Story

My life changed drastically after I was crushed by a falling tree—a traumatic experience that left me with several serious injuries, including a traumatic brain injury. It’s been a long journey, and while I’ve had to adapt to a new version of myself, I’ve refused to let go of my dreams.

One of the biggest challenges I face now is being in loud, crowded environments, which has led me to shift my focus as a photographer. I’ve found myself drawn to smaller, more intimate settings—and in the summer of 2024, I photographed my first adventure elopement. It was truly my happy place. I helped the couple find the perfect spot, tucked away on a quiet mountainside surrounded by nothing but nature. We ended the day with sunset portraits on a mountaintop, and I felt completely at ease—present, peaceful, and deeply connected to my work. It was a moment that fit my current reality and reminded me of why I do this.

Moving forward, I hope to align with adventurous couples looking for meaningful elopement experiences in natural, remote settings. That’s where I feel most grounded and inspired.

Outside of elopements, I also love photographing real estate, sports, families, and landscapes. Before my injuries, I was a preschool teacher, and I deeply miss working with young children. One of my favorite sessions is photographing kids—their energy, joy, and genuine expressions are such a gift to capture.

Recently, I’ve also started creating greeting cards, which feature my photography. You can find them, along with a variety of my matted and framed prints, at Green Mountain Holistic Healing in Morrisville, VT.
